Play and Learn, the original parent and teacher stores, were started in l984 by a couple of experienced educators with the aim: to provide our community with the best available toys, books and learning materials to enhance the growth and development of our precious children. Another fundamental purpose was to ease the demanding load on parents, teachers, therapists, health providers and caregivers by providing a one-stop shopping experience where all their requirements can be found. The ever expanding Christian section is a real convenience for Church and Christian schools.
Our flagship Kingston location is the largest store of its kind in Canada and has become a regular destination for local people and those who are hours away. People are pleasantly surprised to find gifts for all ages, as well as products for special needs, such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD and stroke victims. Our wonderful staff takes great pleasure in suggesting just the right items to meet each individual’s needs.
In 2005 we opened our newest location in Peterborough to serve the region from Oshawa to Haliburton.
